Community Partnerships

Beautiful words to our ears and visions of excitement and expectation to our eyes and in our hearts;  especially where children and young adults are involved!  North Run’s partnership with Maude Trevvett Elementary School has volunteers working in crafts and teacher support, tutorial reading, assistance to students with math, and mentoring in a lunch Buddie program.  In the lunch Buddie program an adult mentors a student 1-on-1 during lunch, listening, encouraging, and enabling the child’s hopes and dreams beyond the barriers they see and face daily.  Elizabeth Holladay Elementary School  is another partner to whom North Run volunteers provide tutorial reading, assistance to students with math, and with whom North Run provides student clothing through the school’s Clothes Closet.  Other opportunities to serve include creating grade-level gardens, and a WatchD.O.G.S. program where male role-models interact with the children.  We continue to look forward to serving God’s children, as opportunities evolve to help children, their parents, and their teachers!
